Moving up

On Tuesday, 8-12, we finished the framing in
the basement.




On Thursday, the floor joists were delivered.

Duane and I placed this beam by sliding it into
place. It took some creative planning but, as you
can see, it worked!!

Friday we continued placing floor trusses. It was
hot--in the high 90's!

On Saturday we had a small delay while Duane
spliced the electrical cord back together that he
accidentally cut through with his skill saw!

By late Saturday night, we were able to put
some of the sheeting down. We used flood lights
so we could work late--when it was cooler (but
it was still 84 just after 10 p.m.).



It was a lot of hard work but we were greatly
blessed and things went pretty smoothly. We
both have lots of bruises and scrapes, but no
major injuries so far! Hopefully, we'll keep it
that way!!

Back to school this week! UGH!!
