Grandpa Lloyd, Sept. 24, 1928 to Aug. 23, 2008

We received sad news yesterday. Duane's
dad passed away early Saturday morning.
We just wanted to share a few memories
we have of him.

Grandpa Lloyd loved his grandchildren and
great grandchildren! Here he is with Karl.

Here is Grandpa Lloyd at Jake and Richelle's
wedding reception in Utah (June 2006).

This was taken last summer at the blessing of
Kara's baby (in Grandpa's arms). This is some
of his children, grandchildren, and great grand-
children.

I remember the big, strong bear hugs he would
always give me. And if he ever sat down by you,
watch out for he was sure to squeeze your knee--
which, since I have sensitive knees would always
drive me crazy! He would just chuckle.

It was a tradition when he came to visit for me to
make clam chowder. He really liked that clam
chowder.

One time when Grandpa and Grandma Lloyd were
visiting, we played Phase 10 with them. Grandpa
drove us all nuts because he would be really sneaky
with his cards and making his plays. It was pretty
funny watching him play.

I have many more memories. I don't remember
him ever being anything but kind and loving to
me and our children. He hasn't been the same
grandpa for the last few years because of his
declining health. But he is free of that now. I
hope he is enjoying a wonderful reunion with family
and friends and I look forward to seeing him again
someday. Love, Sharlene
