Excavation and footings: Making progress

Beginning excavation


Almost done. Our excavator asked if we just wanted
to put in a swimming pool instead of a house!


Dirt everywhere (people who know me well know
that I don't like dirt!).


Footings--foreground is great room (main floor) and
family/entertainment room (basement). Smaller
footings in the back are basement bedrooms and master
bedroom/bathroom on main floor.


Left of picture is the garage area. Main floor will
have den, half bath, and laundry room. I know--
it's hard to picture!

Our excavator and foundation contractor are the
same subcontractors we used 24 years ago when
we built our other house. I hope this is the last time
they work for us!!
